Word of the Week is changing…

Word of the Week is changing…

On March 1st, 2019,

‘Word of the Week’ will become

‘Mindful Months’

Back in November, I made a big move from NC to NJ. These past few months have been filled with massive changes, and I’ve been trying to figure out how best to keep showing up to share with you, and how that might fit into what my life looks like now.

Focusing on a new word each week has felt a bit overwhelming, so I’ve decided to make it a monthly intention. This change will allow for a deeper dive into the power and possibilities of that word for a full 30 days. (Which I hope you’ll find more helpful than receiving a new word each and every week.)

We’ll begin each month with a word to focus our energy and then mindfully explore and implement that intention over the next four weeks.

Small changes over time = BIG RESULTS!

You can expect periodic updates containing guided audios, journaling prompts, bits of inspiration, and tools, tips and resources all designed to support you in creating positive changes one month at a time.

Join me for our very first Mindful Month…We begin March 1st!

Word of the Week: Remembering

Word of the Week: Remembering

“Love is the bridge between you and everything.” ~Rumi

All of the problems in our world can be distilled down to one core issue: the absence of LOVE. When Love is present there is peace, understanding, compassion and inclusion. There is no ‘other.’ We acknowledge and respect our shared humanity and the Light that lives in all Beings.

Today on All Hallow’s Eve, and in the days ahead, let us remember those who have passed from our physical world into Spirit. Let us honor the Dead and in so doing, honor their lives, and the life that we are gifted with today. Our time in this world is precious, let us pause to treat it as such.

A guided meditation for honoring our ancestors, sending Love into the past + supporting us in creating our future:

The current cycle of the Celtic Wheel of the Year ends tonight. And with endings, it can be helpful to go within and reflect upon what has been. To honor. To celebrate. To remember. So that we may begin the new – consciously and with Love as our guide.

  • Who is someone in my past that has had a positive influence on my life?
  • What do I remember most about them?
  • How might I honor them in a meaningful way?
  • I am grateful for _______.
  • I’m celebrating my completion of ______ this year!
  • Something that needs my attention going forward is ________.
  • As we move into the winter holidays, it’s important for me to _________.
  • Three things that have been most meaningful to me this year are _______.
  • An important moment I wish to remember always is _______.

Wishing you many Blessings as we move into a new cycle of the seasons! May we always remember that all things begin in darkness, and when Light and Love are added, growth is inevitable.

Word of the Week: Oct 22nd

Tomorrow is moving day!

And while I thought I could pack up my entire life, handle a long list of errands, and also keep writing and sharing online, I may have been expecting a bit too much of myself.

This process has been a constant exercise in ‘letting go’. I’ve shipped some books and files, but whatever else is coming with me has to fit in my car. And while the Prius fits quite a lot, I’m being forced to make some tough decisions on what to carry forward with me into this new chapter.

I’m also looking at my expectations and the demands I’ve been placing on myself… Where I’m pushing too hard and not resting enough.

So since the Word of the Week is on hiatus until Sunday, October 28th, I invite you to spend a little time this week checking in with yourself around what you’re carrying and how you’re treating yourself:

  • What expectations do I have for myself on a daily/weekly basis?
  • Can I realistically (and sanely) do all that I think I need to do?
  • What are my top priorities?
  • What can I let go of?
  • When I look around my home, do I use/love/value the stuff I have?
  • Can I pick 5 or more things to donate this week and let them go, knowing someone else will enjoy them?
  • How can I be kinder to myself?

Wishing you lightness on your journey, and I’ll see you next week!

Word of the Week: Oct 15th

Please be patient while we take a brief paws…ahem, ‘pause.’

I’m so excited to share that lots of interesting new possibilities for sharing the work are unfolding! I’m packing boxes and preparing to move from NC to NJ next week, all while planning and dreaming about what’s next.

Since this shift materialized only about two weeks ago, I’m scrambling to get everything done. I thought I could also keep going with weekly posts, but I’ll need to take a break this week.

Word of the Week will (hopefully) resume on Sunday, October 21st.

Thanks so much for your understanding! I promise to do my best to get back to sharing as soon as possible.

Word of the Week: Resilience

Word of the Week: Resilience

When life stretches you to your limit…

How can you spring back into shape rather than snap and break?

This week let’s explore Resilience.

The keys to a more resilient you: connection, meaning, and support.

Connection We are social beings. We don’t do well in isolation. Over thousands of years humans have developed as members within tribes. Yet while we currently appear to be more connected than ever, a recent survey conducted by Cigna estimates that more than half of Americans feel lonely.

What to do when feeling adrift? The remedy is in the ‘do’-ing. Go outside for a walk and marvel at nature. Talk with a neighbor. Send a card. Cultivate your spiritual connection. Phone a friend. Invite someone to join you in an adventure. Do something you’ve been meaning to do for a while, and be open to new possibilities and new connections. Take action and get moving! It will change the energy and how you feel.

Meaning  A sense of meaning guides us forward and gives us a reason to keep going. When we are helping others or supporting a cause we believe in, the energy of the collective can inspire and motivate us.

Knowing that what we’re doing in some way supports the well-being of another person, animal, or the planet, really can improve our mood. And when we show up for someone or something meaningful to us, it shifts our focus away from our own worries and provides a sense of purpose. It can also help us find the inner strength to keep going, even when facing unthinkable circumstances.

Support At first glance ‘support’ may seem a lot like connection. But it’s a bit different. Instead of being outwardly focused and action oriented, it’s an opportunity to be receptive. When we are willing to allow and receive the support we need, we’re also giving others a chance to experience that same feeling of connection that comes from taking action in a meaningful way.

Receiving support can be a radical act of self care, and it’s even more revolutionary if you’re willing to actually ASK for the support you need.

During the next week, I invite you to pay attention to how you respond when someone offers you support in any form. Do you gratefully receive it? Or do you avoid or push it away?

And if you’re feeling daring, I encourage you to also ASK for the support you need. It may take courage and vulnerability to ask, but the potential benefits far outweigh the risks. Be brave! Ask.

Align with the Tenacity of Green + Resilience of Nature

This simple guided meditation will help you connect with the energies of determination, resilience and hope.

Essential oils to support Resilience

Basil, Holy – Also called Tulsi, the gifts of this essential oil are many. When viewed through the lens of cultivating more resilience within you: mind, body, emotions and spirit, Holy Basil is an exceptional choice for creating harmony and supporting multi-level integration.

Cypress, Emerald – This Green Goddess is a messenger of the Nature realms that connects you with your Heart Chakra and cultivates inner strength and resolve. By working with Emerald Cypress, you will connect with the Heart of Nature and the larger cosmos, along with your inner peace and wisdom.

Fir, Balsam – A messenger of Universal Oneness, Balsam Fir is the essential oil to reach for when it seems things have shattered into a million tiny pieces and you don’t know where to begin to put things together again. She will bring clarity and spaciousness and support to all you are and all you do.

Resilience is the capacity to recover quickly from the difficulties we face.

“In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.”

~Albert Camus

May your difficulties be few, and may you grow stronger and more resilient with each passing day.

Wishing you the tenacity of Green,
